Our Team

Murray Liddle

Workshop Manager

Murray is a qualified boilermaker and a local Arrernte man, who has a passion for coaching and mentoring young people. He has done this for many years locally in mining and industry across Australia and remote communities as well with the footy field.

Murray spent some of his early years at the CfAT workshop before spreading his wings to experience Perth and Darwin. He returned to Alice to revamp our metal fabrication business before making his way up to Darwin again.

Narayana ‘Rao’ Sangaru

Boilermaker/Welder

Rao is a qualified boilermaker who worked for a local fabrication workshop before joining CfAT. Originally from India, he now calls the Red Center home.

Rao spends a large portion of his time organising jobs and passing his skills on to less-experienced staff. He also enjoys the challenge of turning seemingly impossible ideas into practical furniture.

Having Rao with his experience and passion has strengthened the workshop team.

Donald ‘Huckey’ Hayes

Technical Officer

Huckey loves driving! Whether it’s the forklift, the tractor or the truck, you can rely on Huckey to be at the wheel. He started at CfAT as the leading hand for a soil sampling project and has stayed with us ever since. He is always willing to give anything a go, even early-morning whipper snipping, which has everyone else heading for the shade.

The drive and enthusiasm Huckey demonstrates sits well at the forefront of what the team represents.

Bruce Williams

Technical Officer

Like Murray, Bruce is on his second tour of duty with CfAT. He worked on the Anerle-aname chairs, which were part of the Australian exhibition at the 2016 Venice architectural Biennale. Bruce took a hiatus while he went travelling, and we are glad to have him back with us at the fabrication workshop.

Kieran.Hart.jpg

Kieran Hart

Technical Officer

Kieran is our star CNC (computer numerical control) laser cutter operator. He hasn’t been with CfAT for long, but is already showing the older fellas up. Talk about a duck to water! Kieran turns his hand to many things in the workplace, but he definitely has a talent for the big complicated machinery with lots of controls.

Brentley Austin

Apprentice

Brentley was the first apprentice that CfAT took on and is now nearing the end of his apprenticeship. Having topped his class after his first year in the industry, he has excelled in his training and hasn’t looked back since. Brentley is our resident expert on the CNC (computer numerical control) bending machine, which is a key component in our furniture manufacturing.
